DJ's First UM v. FSJ game

DJ was the "lucky charm" for the Hurricanes this year. He wore his UM shirt to show his team spirit. After a VERY CLOSE GAME...UM pulled out a win over FSU. DJ was very excited by the win (ok, he was sleeping, but his grandpa was very happy with the win). DJ also got to meet his Great Uncle Jac from New Jersey and his second and third cousins, Rob, Kristine, Anna and Daniel.

DJ's First Month

Our first month has been an adjustment. No more full night sleep -- three hours in a row is an accomplishment! We went to the doctor at 2 weeks and DJ had regained the two ounces he lost in the hospital and gained an additional two ounces to put him at a whopping 7 pounds! He is still so tiny, he only fits in preemie clothes! But he is a good eater and sleeper and after a couple of long nights, we were introducted to mylicon and everything has gotten better. He is so amazing, from his smile to his attentiveness. He already holds up his head and is trying to roll over (if he could just move that pesky arm he would be on his stomach!) We also took an outing to Starbucks with him and Penny -- his "little" puppy.

DJ arrives

DJ arrived right on time, via C-section at 12:56pm on August 5, 2009. He was 6 lbs 14 oz and 19.25 inches. I started crying when I heard his little cry. God has given us this gift that we waited and prayed for. This has been a two year journey to reach this point and I know that even though we went through so much heartache, this is how it was meant to be. DJ is a perfect fit for our little family. He had so many visitors, his grandparents (who were so excited to meet him) and his great grandparents, as well as great aunts and uncles, friends and other family.

Baby Shower

I know I'm a little late in posting these, but had to get pictures from mom...The shower was beautiful, thank you Kim, Danielle, Elise and Lisa for a beautiful time!

D.J. wants to thank his Aunt Kim, Uncle Mike, Aunt Danielle, Uncle Jon, Aunt Elise and Uncle Michael for the very cool firetruck, dalmation and picture box.

Penny wants to tell Madison that she misses her, and whenever she wants to come back and play with her she is welcome!!!

7 weeks to go!!!

Went for another ultrasound this week. DJ is growing right on pace. He's about 4 pounds and already in the head down position. I think he dropped this week, my belly is not so much up my throat! DJ is very active lately, but still being nice at night to let mommy sleep! Found out I have gestational diabetes, very difficult because I have to take my blood 7 times a day and they have me on a very strict diet. I'm having a hard time, but DJ is worth it! Waiting on baby furniture, Tim is going to put up the chair rail in the nursery this week and then we just have to wait for furniture and final touches. So excited!

Meet D.J.'s Lucky Penny

We picked up our new puppy today.  Her name is D.J.'s Lucky Penny, but we're just going to call her Penny (my mom got her wish, though we didn't go with Penelope on the AKC papers, just Penny).  She is a Standard Poodle and as you can see she is black.  She is the sweetest thing, she just sleeps really because she is only 8 weeks old, she was born on Friday March 13th!  The large dog in the picture is her mom, Ellie, who is absolutely beautiful!  She also has a sweet temperment so we have a lot of hope that Penny will be like her mom.

David James

It's a Boy!  Had the ultrasound Wednesday (sorry family we lied, but I wanted to surprise you all!) and very clearly saw that it is a boy!  We will be welcoming David James in (hopefully) mid-August (and hopefully by C-section if I have any say in it!)  Everything else was great.  Saw his hands, feet, spine and even his stubborn side when he decided to sit indian style near the end when the doctor was trying to locate where the umbilical cord attached (guess he is definitely our child!!).  Here are a few pictures of him.  Tim is excited to have a little boy to teach to shoot and all that other manly stuff.  I look forward to football, baseball and other sports!!  Needless to say my dad is excited also.  He's already told my mom that she can't make him sissy!  I think he is already planning UM football game trips and to get a big screen t.v. to watch football on with his grandson.  Mom thinks she is going to teach him piano and that her house is going to be just fine with a little boy running around (we will cure her of that quickly I hope)!  Tim's parents are excited too.  His dad wants to know when they can go to the shooting range (my vote is 18, but I think I'll be vetoed!).
